Evening traffic scenes dominated by a series of rollovers along major routes
Emergency crews responded to a string of serious vehicle incidents Thursday evening, capped by a reported rollover on northbound US-15 at the Monocacy Boulevard interchange that drew a large complement of apparatus. The US-15NB / MONOCACY BLVD call was logged at 4:49 pm with units A28, A18, ALS2, R2, E291, E111, EK224, BC901 and EMS902 dispatched to the scene, according to Frederick Scanner radio traffic.
Earlier in the afternoon, crews answered another rollover on Old Annapolis Road. That incident, reported at 3:25 pm in the 10500 block of OLD ANNAPOLIS RD, listed A179, ALS17, E111, RE171, BC902 and EMS901 among units sent. A third rollover was reported later at 9:25 pm at OLD NATIONAL PIKE / WOODVILLE RD (MT. AIRY); units A158, CCM18, ALS33, E152, R15, BC901 and EMS901 were responding to that call.
Between the rollovers, a pedestrian-struck call at 6:25 pm on the 700 block of WEMBLY DR — DERBYSHIRE APTS prompted the dispatch of A28 and PE23. That call was logged without follow-up updates on the radio feed. Frederick Scanner also recorded a high-mechanism vehicle accident reported at 7:31 pm on the 8800 block of BEALLS FARM LN listing E231, R3, A37, ALS4, BC903, EMS901 and TT23 among units dispatched.

At 1:41 pm crews were sent to a reported GAS LEAK INSIDE at the 1100 block of TANEY AVE — NORTHSIDE TOWNHOUSE APARTMENTS. E501, PE23 and T50 responded; E501 later reported a pilot light malfunction on a gas stove, negative meter readings in the residence and that the gas had been secured with units returned to service.
Fire alarm responses peppered the morning and midday hours. A commercial alarm at 10:48 am on the 14700 block of MANAHAN RD prompted PE102, TW6 and E511 after Frederick ECC advised that the proper alarm passcode had been received. At 11:24 am an alarm at the RECOVERY VILLAGE on the 600 block of E. PATRICK ST brought E31 and TT4; E31 reported nothing evident on arrival and later cleared all units, characterizing the event as an accidental alarm due to cooking. A residential alarm in Brunswick at 3:47 am on the 100 block of NINTH AVE resulted in PE52 and R19 being dispatched; PE52 reported nothing evident on arrival and relayed that the homeowner said a humidifier had tripped the alarm.
Late-night activity included an OUTSIDE INVESTIGATION OF SMOKE at 9:33 pm on the 1800 block of PLEASANT VIEW RD and a CHECK UP AFTER ACCIDENT with police on scene at 9:38 pm at BALLENGER CREEK PIKE / S. RENN RD, each logged on the scanner with single-unit responses. A motorcycle accident was reported at 11:21 pm on the ramp from US-15/340WB to the Route 180 ramp, with A19, ALS4, R3, E11 and EMS901 dispatched; E11 arrived on scene and reported the motorcycle off the roadway, then later reported no patient found and that units were returned to service.
