Gas Odor on Gillespie Drive, Multiple Roadway Incidents
Crews were dispatched to US-15 northbound near ORNDORFF RD in Emmitsburg at 6:21 p.m. for a reported vehicle accident — entrapment. Responding units included Ambulance 307, Ambulance 69, Advanced Life Support 30, Rescue Squad 10, Tower 6, Engine 102, Engine 61, Battalion Chief 902 and EMS Supervisor 902. At 6:25 p.m., units were in the area and attempting to locate. At 6:27 p.m., Frederick ECC advised responding units of the location at US-15NB / Orndorff Rd.
At 10:59 p.m., crews were called to Route 140 near US-15 in Emmitsburg for a reported vehicle accident. Responding units included Ambulance 69, Ambulance 68, Ambulance 307, Advanced Life Support 30 and Engine 61. At 11:02 p.m., Ambulance 69 arrived to find two vehicles involved. Ambulance 69 began checking on the occupants. At 11:04 p.m., Engine 61 arrived and reported that the collision was on the Rte. 140 bridge over US-15.
A reported building fire brought crews to 100 block N. STRATTON ST in Gettysburg at 12:50 p.m. Responding units included Tower 6.
Crews were dispatched to 600 block GILLESPIE DR in Gambrill View at 4:27 p.m. for a reported gas odor inside. Responding units included Engine 11, Engine 501 and Truck 50. At 4:33 p.m., Engine 11 arrived at a single-story residential dwelling. Engine 11 found nothing evident, and Engine 11 began investigating. At 4:39 p.m., it was reported that the resident had secured the gas at the meter before the fire department arrived. E11 reported normal meter readings inside.
At 3:47 p.m., crews were called to 700 block COMPASS WAY in Renn Quarter for a reported commercial fire alarm. Responding units included Engine 31 and Tiller Truck 4. At 3:52 p.m., Engine 31 arrived at the middle of the town townhouse. Engine 31 found nothing evident. At 3:55 p.m., crews reported no hazards present, and units returned to service.
A reported commercial fire alarm brought crews to 2400 block WATERSIDE DR — VILLAGE CROSSING AT WORMANS MILL at 5:08 p.m. Responding units included Engine 291 and Tower 11. At 5:11 p.m., Engine 291 arrived at the multi-story assisted living facility. Engine 291 found nothing evident, and Engine 291 began investigating. At 5:19 p.m., crews had investigated, found no hazards and were resetting the alarm system.
Crews were dispatched to 7100 block BROWNS LN in Lewistown at 6:42 p.m. for a reported transformer fire. Responding units included Brush 226 and Brush 106. At 6:55 p.m., Battalion Chief 902 arrived. Battalion Chief 902 confirmed that a utility pole was on fire. At 6:56 p.m., it was reported that nearby residents had contacted Potomac Edison. The utility pole had nearly burned through above the transformer; the top portion of the pole had lines attached and could fall.
At 6:46 p.m., crews were called to 8400 block GAS HOUSE PIKE — SILVERADO FREDERICK MEMORY CARE COMMUNITY for a reported vehicle accident. Responding units included Ambulance 29 and Paramedic Engine 23. At 6:51 p.m., Ambulance 29 arrived and began evaluating one patient. At 6:55 p.m., crews were in the process of obtaining a patient refusal.
